SF - Round 0 - Page 9After spying a few more odd creatures than Meka wished to, the odd pair came across two boulders that leaned against each other, with cushy grass and dirt underneath. It wasn’t fancy, but the Keino was used to that. He curled up in the shade of the boulders. Though he couldn’t see the sun through the trees, he could tell it was evening.

“Are we gonna stay here?” Camilla asked, eying the boulders.

“Yes. You’d best get under before--”

BOOM. An arc of lighting flashed above the trees, and rain crashed down onto the ground through the lush treetops. Camilla came inside without further objections.

SF - Round 0 - Page 8“Something wrong?” a creature that Meka decided looked like some sort of demon asked in a sing-song voice. Her eyes glowed eerily, even the ones on her legs and tail. Meka figured that it would hurt to blink them. Camilla stared at the creature, and a look of terror briefly passed across her face before she suppressed it.

Instead, she looked at the fanged faces appearing on the trees. Okay, that was a little creepy. Or a lot. Let’s go with very creepy.

He thought about the answer to the question. “Well, I guess I’ve gone crazy? That’s the only possible explanation for why you look like a mutant fr--&rdquo

Camilla nudged her “father” tentatively. He seemed to be breathing, but it was somewhat heavy. His eyebrows were knitted together and his eyes closed, but no amount of prodding seemed to wake him.

“...Dad? Meka?” she whispered. Nothing.

“Good work. A simple solution, yet it worked. Who knew stones would finish this work?”

“Thanks, but I gotta agree with that one there,” he said motioning to Meka, “you talk too much. Too fancy.”

The dark one scoffed. “Agreeing with criminals, now? Are you sick?”

“Nah...” the red-maned one said, with a laid-ba

SF - Round 0 - Page 6Meka felt a sharp tug on his scarf--strong enough that he gasped in pain. His head whirled around to glare at...a gigantic bug?

“Oh, I’m sorry, does that hurt?” she chirped.

“Yeah, it kind of does. Don’t touch it, please.” He growled and bared his teeth for emphasis.

“Can I have some organs, then?”

“Uh...” He backed away. “Yeeeeeeah....no. Well...” he glanced at Camillla, who was awake, but barely. “...Unless you want to take them from this pest,” he added, his voice edged with sarcasm.

The bug squealed with delight, but Camilla leaped off of Meka’s

The two Keinos stayed still for a moment, jaws agape, as Meka cleared their heads by a centimeter, stumbled, then continued running.

And then Camilla shot over them as well, calling out, “Daaaaaaaaaddy!”

“What do you want from me!?” Meka hissed as Camilla caught hold of his mane.

“The forest!” she yelped, clutching his mane with all her might. “Go to the forest!”

“What!?” the off-white Keino panted. “Why!? They’ll catch me!”

“Please!”

“Fine!” Meka huffed, making a sharp turn as the two other Keinos followed in dogged pursuit. I sure hop

Wow, it's amazing how well the song lyrics fit with each situation. Obviously the jay isn't quite the same as an owl and Cherr isn't quite a fox, but, you know...

You seem to like making the characters' eyes glow in the dark.

I noticed it on page 7 too, when I looked back just now.

I tried, I tried~ But yeah, none of the Thief's servants are owls--they're all corvids (crows, ravens, magpies, jays, jackdaws, etc.), but the only designs given were of the crow, raven, and magpie. But I really liked the idea of the jay that Shinkoryu made up in her audition.
Though others have noted that Kabrians remind them of foxes (granted, with huge ears

), so I guess that makes more sense than on the surface.

Yes~! I love glowing eyes. They also help get a dark feel across, in my opinion. Plus, it helps with conveying emotion, because it makes the eyes stand out.
